Are you looking for ideas to escape from the sweltering heat of the city and cool off in nature, perhaps by walking?
In this first article we will delve into 3 simple walking paths in the province of Lecco, close to Milan, you can try yourself (with your comfort shoes on your feet, of course)!
Walking to the Pozze di Erve, a breathtaking place
An easy walk in the province of Lecco, leading from Erve to Sorgente San Carlo. The first section is easy and flat, and in a short time allows you to reach the first shallow pools with pebble beaches, also ideal for families with small children. For those wholook for deeper pools set in the rocks, however, with breathtaking waterfalls, you'll have to walk a bit more! Then continue along the path, following the signs for Fonte San Carlo spring. Just before you get to the spring, we recommend you stop at one of the beautiful pools, where you can relax among crystal-clear water, natural slides and the sound of waterfalls. Finally, resuming the route and once you reach the spring, climb up to the Monza Refuge. The route to the beautiful pools of Erve will end right there.
Walking to Cenghen Waterfall, from Abbadia Lariana
The Cenghen Waterfall Trail is a beautiful and easy walk to discover a spectacular corner of Val Monastero, in the province of Lecco. It is a loop trail, with departure from and arrival point at Abbadia Lariana. In about an hour's walk, you reach the beautiful waterfall, which is formed thanks to a narrow cleft in a vertical rock. It's about 50 meters in height, which channels the water and lets it fall thunderously.
Walking from Balisio to Brunino, closer to Milan
The walk from Balisio to Brunino, in the province of Lecco, is very easy, short and also suitable for families. You will be able to leave your car in Colle Balisio and walk following the signs on the route, to reach Agriturismo Brunino (1015 mt) in Pasturo, on a path that is easy at the beginning and uphill with some hairpin bends in the final part. Once at the agriturismo you can enjoy an excellent meal and a wonderful view of Grignetta, with the Gerone Valley and, on the other side, the Valsassina mountains, with the Desio Valley and Zucco di Desio in the foreground.
